Is the paper dead?
The advent of the worldwide computer hardware and in all occupations had initially led to believe that paper consumption would decrease. And more than paper newspapers would disappear in favor of their publication « online ». Finally, the paper is more resistant than we had assumed.
First of confidence in the computer archiving which does not seem absolute requires conservation of written record. But above all changing habits is difficult. The systematic use of IT for many tasks is not mandatory.
Although the youngest in the majority, are « online » that old. Yet it is surprising as the editor of a medical journal by the preference for many, even among the youngest of our colleagues for the print subscription.
