Summary : The malignant schwannoma is rarelly found in the nose or sinuses. Two forms are recognized: isolated or primitive (de novo) and those occurring as part of neurofibromatosis (Von Recklinghausen). Objective: To study the clinico-anatomical characteristics, treatment and results together with a review of the literature. Material and method: we report the case of a 58 year old patient with a right maxillo-nasal tumour presenting as nasal obstruction and epistaxis. An enlarged paralatero-nasal approach allowed the removal of the malignant schwannoma. Post operative radiotherapy was also undertaken. Results: The patient is free of disease after ten months of follow up. Conclusion: the naso-sinusal malignant schwannoma is a rare tumor which needs precise radiological assessment (TDM - MRI), and treated by surgery followed by postoperative radiotherapy.
